Charis offers clients expertise in environmental planning, with specialist expertise in noise and air quality assessments.  Charis has experience in undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and the production of Environmental Statements (ES) for a variety of schemes and projects, including large residential and commercial developments; transport schemes and micro‑generation renewable energy projects.

Charis has provided flood risk expertise for a variety of development projects and is capable of conducting flood risk assessments in accordance with PPS25.   She is experienced in hydrological (FEH, and formerly FSR) and river (HEC-RAS) modelling.  She has given expert advice to a number of Drainage Authorities; undertaken National Strategic & Contingency studies and prepared training material for the Environment Agency’s flood risk management teams.

Charis is a committee member of the ‘ICE East Midlands Engineering Knowledge Sub-Committee’ and the ‘ICE Staffordshire Group’.  These roles involve her attendance at regular committee meetings and implementation of actions to promote the Institution’s activities.

Charis is a Science and Engineering Ambassador (SEA) for Derbyshire’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Network (STEMNET).  As an Ambassador, Charis volunteers at activities to help schools inspire young people in these subject areas.
